Air Jordan 4 “5lab4”
Jordan brand are once again using the 3M from the Jordan 5 in the “lab” series. The “5lab4” shown here has a very similar look to the 3lab5 silver colourway. The laser etching on the upper of the 4 gives this shoe more character than its counterpart, but I will reserve all opinions until we see the shoe without the reflective shine.
Top 5 Kicks to look out for in May
As May has just begun, we thought we would give you our views on the top5 releases this month:
5. Air Jordan 5lab3 Black
The second 5lab3 colourway to release features an all black 3M upper giving off a reflective look that magnifies under intense light. The midsole is black and the sole is translucent, the exact same as the silver 5lab3s. Release date is 17th March for $225.00 or £175.00.
4. Nike Lebron 11 “What the Lebron?”
We once again see the ‘what the’ series translated onto Lebrons signature line. The Lebron 11 features colourways from all through the years. The majority white upper makes these shoes look less extravagant than previous releases, and I’m not so sure about the overuse of the graffiti look, regardless these will still fly off shelves if they are there. Release date is May 31st for $250.
3. Nike Penny “Shooting Stars” Pack
I am not a fan of the wacky uppers released on foamposites in recent times (excluding the Fighter Jets), but I adore the Lil Penny feature in this pack. The shooting stars pack features a Foamposite One with a white upper and blue laces, tongue and lining. Icy sole and white stars on the black nubuck complete the shoe. The Lil Penny Posite has a black upper with blue accents and blue lining. If you look closely at the black upper you can see small star shaped indentations. The pack will release on May 17th for $500.
2. Air Jordan 6 “Carmine”
The carmine is back. Some regard this colourway as the best ever Jordan 6, but with the flutter of new and exciting colourways coming our way, will it be easier to cop for sneakerheads (nope)? The upper consists of red nubuck at the front and white smooth leather towards the back. The white panels and black midsole and lining finish off the sneaker. Release date is May 24th for $170.00.
- Air Jordan 11 “Concord”
The classic concord colourway has been seen on a lot of sneakers recently. With suggested releases of the concord foamposites, concord 2s and concord air force 1, one can only be thankful the 11 lows are here soon. The black and white upper is complemented by a white midsole and icy sole. Release date is May 2nd (tomorrow) for $150.00.
Nike Air Max 90 Ice “New York”
Coming from the Nike city pack is this New York themed colourway. Featuring a light brown upper with white polka dots, blue swoosh and lining, red accents, and a translucent midsole, this colourway is sure to turn heads with its vibrant contrasts.
Air Jordan 5lab3 Black
The second colourway of the 5lab3 has appeared on the net. This time the upper is all black instead of silver, but still incorporates the 3M from the tongue of the Jordan 5. The black & white midsole is the same as the previous 5lab3 and so is the translucent sole. No release date has been set.
New Jordan Future colourways
The Infrared, glow, and multi-colour versions of the Jordan Future were very successful, with all selling out in minutes on available sites (no surprise). Here we see 4 new colourways to hit shelves. All 4 shoes have a white midsole and the upper and sole are matching. The 4 colours available will be black, sport blue, red, and volt. No release day as of yet.
Nike Lebron 11 “South Beach”
Once again, we are heading to South Beach. The Miami inspired colourway will take the form of the Lebron 11. The turquoise upper is reminiscent of the Miami Dolphins, and there is black lining between the hyperposite and material upper. The sole is a lighter shade of green and pink accents complete the shoe. Release date is set for the 21st June.
Air Jordan 6 “World Cup”
With the football (not soccer) world cup approaching, Jordan brand have decided to mark the event with the Jordan 6 “world cup”. The shoe consists of a black upper with suede inside the panels, a fluorescent green midsole, and splatter on the heel tab and base of the kicks. The yellow and green pay homage to the host country, Brazil. No release date as of yet.
19th April Releases
Three different styles of kicks were released in 19th April. The “Yeezy” Foamposites, “Nightshade” 11s and Jordan Future “Multi-coloured” all sold out on UK sites, but due to technical difficulties on Nike US the release was pushed back. Consumers were left disappointed again as bots took over the release, leaving mere seconds for internet buyers to select the shoe. No doubt the US release will be near impossible to get.
Nike Basketball “Easter” Pack
This years easter pack consists of the KD 6, Kobe 9 EM Low, and Lebron 11 Low. The KD6 features a bunny camouflage upper with gold accents, the Kobe 9 Low has a melting easter egg look on a green upper, and the Lebron 11 low has a white upper with patterned green accents. The easter pack will release tomorrow (18th April).
Air Jordan 3lab5 “Metallic Silver”
Last year we saw the 3lab5 introduced as the first shoe in the lab series. It incorporated the famous elephant print from the Jordan 3 onto the upper of the Jordan 5. Here we have another release of the 3lab5, this time with an all black elephant print upper, black and metallic silver midsole, and an icy blue sole. No release info for the Metallic Silver 5s yet.
